John Hively is a master craftsman.
A few years ago we had some extensive remodeling done. In the process, my husband and I wanted to have a computer/work center. John came over and suggested many ideas. In working together, we decided to have a piece of furniture made that would cover one wall in our "computer" room. It is made of Northern Ash that John white-washed. 
The finish and patina is beautiful. Exquisite details were incorporated into the computer/desk workstation, especially the dental block ceiling molding that encircles the entire room. We have an area for the monitor and hard drive and two slide out drawers below. The top is for the mouse and the bottom for the keyboard. Above all of this is a huge cabinet that has superior storage space. The printer is behind double doors between the computer area and my work desk. It also slides out for easy access. Next to the printer, which has 5 adjustable open shelves above it, is my work desk. The shelves, one next to the computer area and the other above the printer, contain numerous books, pictures and knickknacks. It is truly a fine handcrafted piece of furniture; one which we would not be able to buy in any store.
